Age of Darkness Ch 4Ch. 4: A World in Shadow. Robert's spell sent the Guardians through the Ether, a immaterial plain where all magical energy comes from and where the Immortals reside. The horrors they saw were unlike anything they had ever seen; bits of raw magic strung themselves into chains to try and trap them there, and everything tried to get them to stay in a realm that is deadly to mortals. The Immortals however, feeling another Immortal's magic, defended them as best they could from the dangers of the realm.
