A New Order Prologue

A new order, The Midnight Roses, have risen to power and seeded fear and suspicion of those who had powers they could not understand. In their blindness, the people rose against the ones they once revered as holy. Those magicians were nearly driven to extinction and those that remained went into hiding.
One thousand years later, the world had changed. New regions, found over the seas, were fostering the birth of new Empires. The Dragon Empire, now with absolutely no religion and complete dominance, flourished with practicality. Humans grew to control the entire continent, taking over the homelands of the various non-human races. The Empire of Toldara, centered on an island archipelago in the Great Sea, contested the Dragon Empires absolute dominance and relations were tense between the two great powers. Our story begins with the Imperial Princess, Ce'Nedra, a spoiled young girl that had grown to believe all magic and its practioners were evil and corrupt. She soon learns not to believe everything she is told, and embarks on a journey to change the world…
